Ansonia Outside Escapement Porcelain Shelf / Mantle Clock In Royal Bonn Case

Estate fresh from a wealthy Oklahoma “oily” estate. This style case is several levels above your average “China” clock. The case is marked Royal Bonn, Germany. ” The case is marked “La Vendee and has several factory numbers and signing on the reverse of the case. The movement is well signed, has the Ansonia “A”, as well as the name spelled out. Apparently, the movement was made in New York and is so signed. Tran Duy Ly dates this clock Ca. 1904 in his book Ansonia Clocks and Watches. Tran shows three decoration variations. The clock strikes the hour and half hour on a gong, using a sounding board to improve the sound quality. The 5 porcelain dial is a two piece; designed to expose the outside escapement. The case has a beveled glass, and the original rear dust cover. There have some well done minor repairs to the clock. Please study the photos, because the pics are part of the description. Beautiful Victorian cuckoo clock with lovely carved wood detailing. Free standing mantelpiece / shelf clock (not for wall hanging). Stamped on the brass mechanism is’G. 32′, indicating it is a Gordian Hettich Sohn which is one of the smaller Black Forest manufacturers founded in 1836 although as it is GHS it is post-1880. Clockwork and cuckoo mechanims Iin full working order including sound via two air bellows. 8-day winding basis i. Needs to be wound once a week. The cuckoo comes out every half hour, it cuckoos once on the half hour and for the number corresponding to the hour. The only issues to note are relatively minor: a very small amount of the white detailing in some places has fallen off around the winder holes and the number 5 (V). Also the handle or knob to pull the back cover off is no longer there but could be replaced, although the back has 2 latches on the top and groove fitting at the bottom so a handle to pull the back off is not really necessary. 1870’s Black Forest Antique Beha Shelf Cuckoo Clock Germany Model 509. This model 509 Futures the fence grape Vines and grapes done in beautiful detail with the butterfly on top the clock is 16″ Tall x 10″ Wide x 6.75 Deep. Its a beautiful collector clock. The clock has no missing pieces and is in fabulous shape and runs beautifully. It has the traditional double doors with an extraordinarily large cuckoo bird, it comes out beautifully, sounds beautiful and has a deep soft sound, keeps fabulous time and is a very strong Runner. It is a 50 hour clock. It has new leather Bellow tops, movement cleaned, oiled case cleaned and waxed. It even retains its original advertising stickers which I find most surprising about this clock. Antique c1825 Chauncy Ives Pillar & Scroll Shelf Clock RARE All Original

Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself. This is a rare clock. This is a nice example of a scroll style clock by Chauncey Ives from Bristol, CT. Beautiful wood case and veneer on this clock. The door is attached to the case by pin hinges. The key is with the clock for the lock latch. The escutcheon is in place around the key hole. No cracks, splits or repairs to the columns or case body. Notice the scroll was broken and repaired many years ago. You typically do not find the feet on these style clocks in such good condition! Original weights, bob is older replacement in the 1800’s, hands are original with pins holding the hr and minute hands in place. Rare Antique Beha Style Carved Black Forest Cuckoo Shelf Clock Case Only

Up for sale is this fantastic antique Black Forest Table Cuckoo Clock Case. The clock has several pencil markings including one in a door 30/8/86 Morath. It also has a partial Morath Brothers label on the interior of the backboard. The number 491 is written on the verso of the ornately Carved front, on the backboard and on the interior of the case. I can’t make a definitive statement on the Maker, I’m just not an expert in this area. It very easily could be by Jean Baptiste Beha or a contemporary of his. Measures about 18 1/2″ x 14″. It does have Old repairs to the top deer’s head which was reattached and about a 7″ x 3″ section at the bottom center looks to have broken off and been glued back in place, there is a visible chip missing from that damage as well. Looks like some loss to the top deer ears, winding arbor holes filled, some damage and soiling to numbers, one door looks replaced. There is also some general aging and expected wear. I have many more pictures of the markings, damage & repairs, and details as well. Please view all 12 photos to help judge condition. Not shown in these pictures are holes added to the bottom to accommodate a Weight Driven chain movement and pendulum. Antique German Black Forest Shelf Mantel Cuckoo Clock. This clock has been cleaned and oiled and tested to ensure working excellent. The clock when wound runs for about 3 days. I think it’s a 7 or 8 day so 3 days is less than what it should be. The cuckoo bird door has been adjusted and may need repair at some point in the future. Please review all photos. As with any clock there may need minor adjustments required when it reaches your home. The clock measures approximately 20 1/2″ tall x 7″ deep x 11 1/2 wide. The clock hands are bone and one of the hands has been very well repaired. The original key hole bone trim is still present. The crown is a custom hand carved reproduction which was hand stained to beautifully match the clock trim. The clock has a cuckoo/gong chime on the hour and half hour. The cuckoo looks original and in working condition. There is an original label on the back of the clock. The winding key is included.
