The musical movement starts and plays the eight popular airs in a sparkling manner ringing six tuned bells with decorative bird strikers. The bells are surmounted by enamelled bees and flowers and can be turned on or off if so desired. The musical arrangements are expressive and harp like in a very pleasing and mellow way. The musical steel comb is perfect and perfectly in tune as can be seen below. All tunes play equally well as in the video selection. The polished brass movement is housed in a very solid case with a moulded and ebonized base, superbly veneered on all sides with front and lid in walnut veneer with kingwood cross banding. The cushion form lid has inlaid marquetry panels to front and top with imitation hardstone, enamels and boxwood. Exterior in a delicious and beautiful honey colour, interior is ebonized. The whole has been traditionally polished to perfection with a mirror finish. All restored to the highest standards as one can see and hear in the video.
