This offering is for an antique mounted photograph of the Sidewheel Riverboat Altonian taken during the Alton flood of 1903. Please see our other listings for additional images of the 1903 flood. The Altonian usually served as a ferry but was pressed into service during the flood rescuing both people and livestock. She is shown here with a herd of horses on her deck. The image quality is great with a very good focus and contrast. The photo measures app. 8″ X 10″ including the mount, the sight size is app. 5″ X 7″ The condition is excellent with some wear and minor loss to the edges of the mount but no rips, tears or repairs. Japy Freres Dore’ Gilt Bronze and Alabaster Antique French Mantle Clock circa 1860’s. A Beautiful Antique French Japy Freres figural cherub ormolu (finely gilded bronze) mounted mantel clock completed with white alabaster case. Has a Japy Freres movement number 5331 EB 4 1. The exceptional case with ormulu mounts, figural motifs and floral swags. The movement by Japy Freres is of high quality and is in excellent, clean and running condition. Clock strikes on the hour and half hour on a bell. Beautiful, clean and bright ormolu with only slight discoloration on top mount. Complete with original pendulum and bell. This clock measures 14.5″ high by 11″wide and a depth of 4 1/4. The clock face is missing the Roman Numeral 7 (VII). Otherwise in excellent condition. Vintage Hamilton Model 21-22 Jewels Marine Chronometer Clock 1943. For offer my Grandfather’s original Hamilton Model 22-21 Jewels marine chronometer clock made by American company Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, PA in 1941 for US Navy in World War II. The clock is in very good condition and I have NOT attempted to wind it up to see if it works in order not to break any parts. Hamilton made this clock in the year of 1943, the Model 21-22 Jewels was known to be the most accurate portable mechanical time piece of it’s time. Hamilton produced 8902 chronometers for the Navy, another 1500 for the Maritime Commission, and 500 for the Army and Air Force (a grand total of 10,902). Hamilton Marine Chronometers original Mahogany wooden box measures about 7-1/2 on all sides. With brass gimbals in. Original condition with no refurbishing of the wood. The clock may require servicing, and you should know that will be an expensive undertaking.
