Really cool glass foil trade/advertising sign for Moore Photographer. The sign has a clay like plaster that held the sign in, and there was likely a wood or metal plate affixed to the back and plaster. The outer case is also in great condition all over consistent with age. No lock fitted but could be added if needed. Internal felt lining all in good condition although slightly marked with age. It is from approx c1915, and of JB Moore provenance with the classic water bug design elements. It measures approx 51″ x 77″. This piece was recently acquired from the old Arizona estate of its original owner, and is in colorful, original condition. It has one small repair-see last 2 pictures. The repair measures approx 2″ x1″. The edges are a bit worn-see pictures. It is very colorful and expertly woven, with a typical JB Moore intricate pattern. Guaranteed to be Navajo and 100% Handmade. The rug was photographed partially in front of a window. THERE ARE MANY SHADOWS AND YELLOWY PATCHES IN THE PHOTOS WHICH ARE DUE TO THE LIGHTED WINDOW, NOT STAINS OR WATER MARKS OR FADING TO THE RUG. BARELY HAD ANY FLOOR SPACE LARGE ENOUGH TO LAY IT DOWN FLAT FOR PICTURES. THE RUG IS VERY EVEN IN TONES AND COLORS. SAVVY , ADVANCED BUYERS/COLLECTORS ONLY, PLEASE.
