This item is a framed United States historical engraving print called, “PRINCIPAL FRONT OF THE CAPITOL WASHINGTON”. The bottom on the right and left have the signatures of the two contributing artists, W. Bartlett on the bottom left and R. Brandard on the bottom right. This item is a highly decorative steel line engraving after a drawing by William Henry Bartlett. This fine plate was produced to accompany the “American Scenery” series, originally published in London 1837-39. The actual print size measures approx. 125 mm tall x 180 mm wide. Both this engraving from circa 1838 and the professional framing from 1955 are in pristine mint condition. This is a piece that will get all the attention in any room. 1900 BSA FITTINGS MACHINE Brakes Bowden rear/Thumb Lever front Vintage Bicycle

Over the next month I’ll advertise a variety of vintage bicycles and you are. Welcome to make (realistic) offers on them. 1900 BSA FITTINGS MACHINE. With interesting brake set up. Bowden rear + Thumb lever front. This BSA Fittings Machine is in good working order. Cosmetically it has a fine layer of rust which could be rubbed down to provide a bare metal finish. It has all the BSA fittings you would expect on such a bicycle, including the’snail cams’ on the rear axle, and the chainwheel and steering head display the BSA logo. This chainwheel design was used from 1899 to 1904, and the brakes are typically early 1900s. Brakes were still mostly experimental around 1900, and this set up is typical of the various configurations available before rod brakes were introduced and became the industry standard. The combination seen here provides one of the most effective braking arrangements available at the time. The Bowden thumb lever, as its title suggests, is pressed down with the thumb to pull the brake stirrup up onto the rim. The handlebar lever for the rear brake is connected by Bowden cable to the rear Bowden rim brake. The Bowden was the first brake of its kind, setting the design for future cycle braking technology. They were only used on bicycles for a few years before being adapted for use on the new-fangled motor bicycles. Rear Bowden brake fittings are not universal due to the variety in design of rear seat stays, so this example would have been supplied to BSA to sell as an option on their fittings bicycles. 1924 BERCEUSE CLEMENT Front & Rear Suspension! Vintage Antique Bicycle

Over the next month I’ll advertise a variety of vintage bicycles and you are. Welcome to make (realistic) offers on them. With Front & Rear Suspension. RARE & INTERESTING BICYCLE. Our Berceuse is the greatest improvement to the bicycle since the invention of the pneumatic tyre. It is the most comfortable and smooth bike you could imagine. Even on the worst roads, you will never be tired. The Clement-Gladiator company introduced their Berceuse suspension bicycle in 1922 (the extract below is from a magazine article Au Salon de 1922). The company was experimenting with various forms of suspension to use on motorcycles and, like other manufacturers of the time, used bicycles to test them. Not many of these machines have survived. The word Berceuse means lullaby, the suggestion being that suspension in a bicycle or motorcycle would provide a rocking action to send you to sleep. When I ride bikes with suspension, Ive found the opposite to be true the extra suspension definitely keeps me awake. As well as the sprung front, it is articulated at the bottom bracket. The seat stays end above the mudguard, where they join a pivot to the seat tube. It takes a little while to get used to sprung bikes flexing where normal bikes don’t, but that doesn’t affect its rideability adversely. Passing cyclists intrigued by its quirky profile could become a problem… You need to factor in extra time to demonstrate its attributes if you’re cycling in a public place. The Clement’s box lining is intact throughout: either it was painted before art of pin-striping by hand became extinct, or it has original paintwork. It has been through our workshops. Antique Mills Liberty Bell 5 Cent Mint & Jackpot Front Vendor Slot Machine

This recently-refurbished circa 1930 Mills Mint and Jackpot Front Vendor, serial number 196655, was produced as a collaboration of the Mills company’s most successful 1920’s slot machines: the Front OK Vendor and the Jackpot. The central jackpot viewing window is surrounded by brightly painted exploding patterns on the dimpled concave front, framed by the two long and narrow windows (also bordered by painted bright colors and patterns) that would have displayed and dispensed mints. This piece also features finished and ribbon accented oak frame, gooseneck coin slot, bullseye coin detector with viewing window, and covered combination jackpot key. The curved and dimpled metal top displays the signature Mills 1776 Liberty Bell, as well as painted decorative owl, leaf, and arrow designs. The machine was restored at some point by the Southern Vending Company; it is in good overall condition, but as of the most recent test the vendor mechanism does not function properly and would require new mechanical linkage. Antique 1935 Zenith Chrome Front S829 Tombstone Tube Radio

For sale is a wonderfully conditioned 1935 Zenith S829 tombstone radio. The original cabinet finish is one of the best I’ve ever seen for this radio. As shown in the photos, there are minor scratches here and there and some finish loss –the most on the original knobs and around the knobs from use, but amazingly good for a 84 year old radio. The chrome front is clean and without any rust, or pitting and the original grill cloth is in excellent condition without any damage. The chassis and speaker are also very clean and original — the chassis looks to have been restored by a previous owner as I did not have it electronically restored. I did plug the unit in and the radio played loud and clear for the few minutes I have it on.
