Condition- A small piece is missing from the “book spine” drawer handle, bottom right corner. Some missing inlay to “book spine” decoration. Rectangular area on bottom, possibly old adhesive. Beautiful clean bible for its age. There is no other writing than the inscription on the inside cover that I could tell. There is a little wear to the outside and a couple little dings to the brass. Clasp works although a little off center. I have tried to show all in pictures. Somebody cared for this bible and it shows. Also there are some bookmarks and some dried flowers. I believe the actual print date is 1883.

Offered is an antique book, No. 13 of Dictionnaire Apostolique A L’Usage de MM. Les Cures Des Villes et de la Compagne. 1776. The book is not a reproduction. The spine is tight. The book has survived despite the added drawings of someone almost certainly a child on the first two blank pages as well as the last two pages of the book. They did not disturb the inner pages but only the front two and back two pages. The drawings are childlike and appear to have been drawn using conti penils or sticks. The marbled calfskin is visable, the spine tight, and gilding just barely presentable. The book is small, 7 x 4 x 2 inches, and weighing just 1 lb. I hope someone can find a use for it if for no other reason than to keep it from further harm. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Paper\Booklets\Pre-1920″.
