The serial number is 76585 and is stamped on the bottom of the cranks housing men’s balloon tire bicycle with 26 wheels. I BELIEVE this is an Elgin but I may be wrong. Could be Dayton, etc. Looks a lot like an early Schwinn B10E. See pics and be your own expert These are next to impossible to find in ANY condition! With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens cruiser style frame truss rod forks, wide handlebars, newer hand grips, full fenders with “flat” braces, (have that “raingutter” look) glass rear fender mounted reflector, Skiptooth chain with unique sprocket, cruiser style seat, (has some cool early 60s model car decals) Schwinn? Pedals, unique chainguard, and more! This bike comes as shown and is REALLY cool! This bike has been local SINCE NEW! It has not seen the light of day in decades. It came from a small town here in Wisconsin and was hidden away in a small building behind a very old long closed up Chevrolet dealership! I dug around and found a tool box “hanging” tank, and a unique rear carrier rack at the same location. They MAY have came on this bike new. (see my other listings). The tires are 26×2.125. They are old vintage raised white letter tires and do hold air. The bike has triple step rims front and rear with a Bendix? The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 30. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 29. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 19. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is cool for being 70+ years old! Would need a total resto for show or enjoy it in its current patina! The bike has obviously been repainted. May come off you never know! Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. If you check out the closed listings, these EARLY Schwinn balloon tire bikes simply dont seem to exist. This could be a great way to complete your collection. I seem to find one of these every 5 years or so. I hope you can appreciate this one for what it is! This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price Why not ride a bike? If you are looking for a fun bike to ride and enjoy this may be it! A nice bike to cruise the beach or your local park! Priced way less than a dime store bike that wont be around 5 years from now, much less 30+ years like this one! Please give this bike a good home and DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! Classic bikes are very cool because not everyone on the block has one! People love to see and talk about and ride these classic bikes! They are more popular now than ever before! This may be a great Birthday or other special holiday gift for someone! It is never too soon to think ahead and get someone something they may really like!! These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced. PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while. (not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc. I try to be as honest as possible and never want to disappoint anyone. I try to be as honest as I can and disclose anything I know about the bike. I want you to be excited about your new bike and hope you really enjoy your new vintage ride for years to come. We try to package well so the bike arrives to you in the same condition as it left us. Fed Ex just increased the rates. This is a 10+ day service and includes packing. I always try to keep things as reasonable as I can. The item “1930s ELGIN PREWAR BALLOON TIRE BICYCLE VINTAGE ANTIQUE B10E SCHWINN 1933-1935″ is in sale since Thursday, July 18, 2019. 1889 FARRINGDON ORDINARY RATIONAL PATTERN high wheel bicycle Made by ELLIS & CO. This style high wheel bicycle is of the “rational pattern” meaning it has a larger rear wheel. It was produced by the same ELLIS & CO. That made the FACILE high wheel safety both of which shared the same larger 22 diameter rear wheel size that made this machine easier rolling and a joy for the rider who experienced less of the rear wheel drag of a smaller diameter wheel found on most high wheel bicycles. SEE THE LAST TWO PHOTOS SHOWING DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION FROM AN ORIGINAL ADVERTISEMENT. The front wheel is 48″ diameter and the rear wheel is 22″ diameter. ABINGDON ball bearing steering head and neck. Tangential spoke pattern wheels. Hollow handle bars with 3 1/2 drop. One handle grip remaining. Like the FACILE it has double row ball bearings on each side of the front hub. Ball bearings to the rear hub and pedals (one pedal missing). Slotted adjustable throw pedal crank arms. Pan saddle is clamped onto backbone and was probably used for racing. Weight of bicycle is lighter than comparable high wheel bicycles of the era.. Extremely rare and hard to find surviving example of an antique bicycle made before last century. High Wheel and Hard Tire Safety Bicycle Accessories consist of handlebar mounted and wheel driven bells, horns, hub and head lamps, tools, wrenches, chain locks, oilers, etc. The item “1889 FARRINGDON RATIONAL high wheel antique bicycle penny farthing” is in sale since Friday, August 24, 2018. Antique 1888 Springfield Roadster Safety High Wheel Bicycle. Antique Springfield Roadster Safety Hi Wheel bike pretty sure from 1888 but may be 1889. This Bike is a nice representation of the last of the High Wheel / Penny Farthing / Ordinary era. Safety means the bike has a rake and consider safer the Original High Wheel / Ordinary bikes. Pedals and cranks work as a treadle, which is a pumping motion more than circular motion. Definitely advancements for the times, you can also coast on this bike. Springfield Roadster is the beginnings / related or becomes Lovell Diamond and further Iver Johnson Bicycles. I got this bike form a Large Iver Johnson collection buyout and have just been appreciating it. Bike is as received, is restored, seems good, but not my restoration work. This Ordinary is quite a bit out of my knowledge range and not my cup of tea so offering her up. Additional info and pictures are on the luxlowsite. The wheel and Tire rubber tip to rubber tip is 50 1/2 assuming a 50′ wheel bike, the treadle action is movable to accommodate multiple size riders. The Bike has a Great Look definitely worthy of a Collection. Rate Varies in relation to how the item ships. For WW1 or WW2 MILITARY BICYCLES. WITH THESE, YOU CAN CONVERT YOUR OWN BICYCLE INTO. A REPLICA MILITARY MODEL. Not every type of rifle clip fits every vintage bicycle. But these are designed to be as versatile as possible. You can see from the photos below how they fit. You need to cut up an old leather belt and glue it inside the rifle clips. To finish them off (though I’ve not done this on the bike illustrated here). And maybe apply a thicker coat of paint, old nuts and bolts, etc. These replicas are hand-made as close as possible to the original pattern. OPEN SIDED, 2nd Pattern. (1 Front piece + 1 Rear piece). (VAT included within EU – tell me if you need a VAT receipt). WAR OFFICE 1901’2nd PATTERN’ RIFLE CLIPS (REPLICA). During WW1, all the major combatants deployed bicycles. Its not possible to know exactly how many military cyclists there were, but its estimated that at least 100,000 British soldiers used bicycles in some capacity and at least 150,000 French and Belgians. A bicycle was an ideal means of transportation as it was comparatively lightweight it could be carried over obstructions and as well as being ridden could be loaded with equipment and pushed. It was particularly well-suited for conveying despatches, guerrilla action, patrols and reconnaissance a motorcycle was faster, but a bicycle was silent. OWNER: The Online Bicycle Museum.
