An Old Canton Workshop Chinese Automaton Acrobatic Figure Musical Pagoda Bracket Clock. Here for your consideration is a large Chinese Canton bracket clock. The gorgeous rosewood case is decorated with beautiful brass casting applications. There is a large Chinese pagoda on the top to make the appearance of this clock even more impressive. The Roman numeral dial is made of porcelain without any cracks or hairlines. Engraved brass floral decorations surrounds the center dial. The time and the automaton feature can be seen through a large beveled glass panel. This clock strikes every 15 minutes, Petite Sonnerie striking. The mechanism is 8 day movement, driven by double fusee chain. It’s built with heavy brass and with engraving on the back plate. The automaton features plays hourly followed by the hour striking. The complicated automaton plays as following, the right curtain rolls up first to follow the pair figures on single bars rolling out. As they are moving around to reveal themselves, those figures pull themselves up and spins on the bar. The rotation completes by both figures moves into the left curtain as it rolls up. Finally, after the last acrobatic figure rolls in, the curtain rolls down to complete this mechanically complicated automaton. Just above the porcelain dial, there is a series of glass tube, which inside spins around to imitate a water fall and a set of horizontal tubes to imitate a running river. You can also find swimming ducks in the river as part of the automaton. A music tone also plays on 8 bells while the clock strikes and the automaton playing. It measures 72.5cm tall, 33cm wide, and 20cm deep, or 28-3/4 inch tall, 13 inch wide, and 8 inch deep. This clock is currently in good working order and all features are working properly.
