Offered to you today is a somewhat rare and gorgeous radio. This is the Halson model 606. It was made 81 years ago, back in 1938. During my years of restoring these old radio’s, this is the first I has seen of this model. The cabinet appears to be a nice dark Walnut and it is very solid. The size is 14.5″ long x 10.5″ tall x 8 deep. The cabinet has a beautifully designed big speaker grill and a very different dial as well. Short Wave reception usually will require a large outside antenna for best operation. The dial has a nice color and lights up nicely in a dark room. As you can see in the photo’s, the radio has the green “Magic Tuning Eye”. The eye works as it should when tuning in stations indicating signal strength. The four knobs are made of wood and are functional / tight to their shafts. Knobs are from left to right: Tone – On/Off/Volume – Band Selector – Tuner. There is a new speaker grill cloth, new dial lamps (2x), new AC Power cord, and new Filter/Audio capacitors installed. The 6 tubes have been tested and the remaining components were checked & replaced if needed. This is a wonderful example of the American Radio Industry waiting for you to display in your favorite place in the home or office. The radio plays and receives stations. Extra Antenna wire will need to be attached to the rear Antenna Pig-Tail for proper performance and reception. Performance will vary based on your location and signal strength. Thank you very much for stopping in! Please take a look at my other radio’s I have listed. The item “Vintage old wood antique tube radio Halson Mdl 606″ is in sale since Friday, October 18, 2019.
