Antique G. S. Garcia Elko, Nv. Tooled High Back Loop Seat Saddle
This is a highly collectible G. At any rate it is approx. Old–the leather is clean supple and in my opinion in above average condition for a cowboy saddle that has been ranch used/abused. High cantle–(see photos) 24-1/2 in. Long round skirts–solid rawhide tree. If you are a collector or want to restore it, the horn needs to be covered on the top area. There are old repairs under the stirrup leathers down by where stirrup goes–it has been stitched by front jockey area on both sides–the outside stirrup leathers have been replaced as have the strings and rigging which I could call a center fire, the sheepskin is poor but some still there. This is a Gilbert and Barker model #T-176. The pump was built in 1923. The normally clear glass reservoir has “turned” purple indicating that manganese dioxide was used in the glass making process. This process was phased out in the mid-1920’s. (This would further prove this pump was made BEFORE 1925). As you can see, the pump is not gutted. The pump and plumbing are original and intact. It has a reproduction globe, hose, nozzle and price sign (not pictured). The pump is originally from eastern Colorado. It originally was a Bay gas pump, but no reproduction glass lens’ was available. (At least at that time). I wanted to restore it as a Bay as that was a familiar brand of gas where l was raised. So l opted to make it a Mobil instead. This pump has ALWAYS been kept indoors since restoration. It has some scratches (no dents) , courtesy of the 1994 Northridge, California earthquake and falling debris. The item “Antique gas pump, visible, fuel, petroleum, gas hand pump, vintage FREE SHIPPING” is in sale since Tuesday, September 18, 2018. You are viewing a magnificent all original timepiece by Sawin & Dyar Mahogany & Giltwood Banjo Clock, Boston, MA. Signed & painted metal dial. Patriotic reverse painted glasses. 8 day time only weight driven brass movement which has been ultrasonically cleaned and serviced. The braided nylon cord was replaced. The hands are original steel hands. Comes with original key not pictured. 41? X 11″ x 4″. It is in excellent condition for it’s age. I’ve searched everywhere and could not find another one like it. The only flaws are a piece of wood has broken off where the eagle sits. The four corners of the inlaid wood on the bottom door are missing. Other than that the clock is amazing. This clock is that old. The mechanism is in excellent condition and keeping accurate time. If properly serviced this clock should last another 200 plus years and this is proof of this. The reverse painting is in excellent condition which shows a little wear due to its age. When received, you will have to unscrew the throat to reinstall the weight. If you feel you cannot do this, it will be your responsibility to have a professional to reinstall this. Please view all pictures and if need be contact me with any questions before making an offer. Whoever is fortunate enough to own this clock you are getting a rare and highly collectible weight driven timepiece. John Sawin of Boston, Massachusetts. John Sawin was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts on September 13th, 1799. It is thought that he was trained as a clockmaker by his uncle Aaron Willard. John was also related to Lemuel Curtis who was a cousin. Throughout his career, John had a number of working relationships. He is then listed as a journeyman working with Aaron Willard Jr. By 1822, Sawin had formed a partnership with George W. Dyar as Sawin & Dyar. This lasted until 1827. John Continued to make clocks on his own and continued to employe many apprentices and journeyman. The number of signed Swain clocks that survive is today’s marketplace suggests that he was very successful. He advertised that in he made Tower clocks and wall regulators. Wall timepieces, gallery clocks and Massachusetts Shelf clocks have been found. John Sawin is probably best known for creating the lyre form wall timepiece. MASON’S PATENT NOV 30TH 1858. With Zinc Lid & New Rubber. I have shown this cornflower blue jar next to a clear glass jar to show the color of this jar. The clear glass jar is not for sale. The text on the jar is “MASON’S PATENT NOV 30TH 1858″. The word “MASON’S” is arched. The mold mark on the base of the jar is three small dots. The text is nicely raised and easy to read. The color is a light cornflower blue. Are several small bubbles in the glass. There is also waviness and some imperfections in the glass. There are two small chips on the lip which might be original to the jar, since the seal is on the shoulder and not the lip. Condition: This jar is in good condition without cracks. There are two scratches on the back side of the jar–one about 1/2″ long and another about 1″long. There are a few light abrasions on the surface due to home canning. The lid is in very good condition and the rubber gasket is unused. The item “Antique Qt Jar-MASON’S PATENT NOV 30TH 1858-Cornflower Blue-w.
